Strengthening the role of civil society in shaping the future of education in Iraq.

UNESCO, in collaboration with Un Ponte Per (UPP), brought together 22 members of the Iraq Civil Society Education Forum (ICSEF) in Erbil for a week of learning, exchange, and collaboration.

Representatives from across Iraq explored key topics including non-formal education, advocacy, TVET, and community engagement, strengthening their ability to contribute to education policy and promote more inclusive and relevant learning opportunities for all.

By empowering civil society voices, UNESCO supports ongoing efforts to build an education system that is equitable, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of communities across Iraq.

The workshop was organized under the ITALEEM and Green and Digital TVET III projects, funded by the European Union and implemented by UNESCO.
