 Halabja Disabled Organization (HDO) in the framework of "the Betterment education
opportunities for students with special needs" 

On 30 November and 1 December, Halabja Disabled Organization (HDO) in the framework of "the Betterment education opportunities for students with special needs" project, arranged a Scientific meeting for a group of special education teachers with special education teachers from Sulaymaniyah and Erbil, the purpose of the Scientific meeting was to exchange ideas and information between each other in regard to how to deal and teach children with disabilities and special needs especially (autism, down syndrome). 

During the first day, Mrs. Media Omer educational supervisor presented a seminar about methods of teaching for students with disabilities and later the teachers participated in practical lessons to get benefit form (Shakar and Down syndrome Centre) professionals’ experience.

Also, in the second day of the Scientific meeting, the teachers visited Erbil special education and Ara center, the participants attended in a seminar which was presented by Mr. Tariq about the role of special education to develop students’ performance and support students with disabilities, also another 2 practical seminars were presented by the Ara Centre regarding how to deal with child with autistic and down syndrome.

Lastly, we extend our gratitude and appreciation for those who supported us during the scientific meeting. And we discussed the future cooperation between Halabja Disabled Organization, special centers in Sulaymaniyah and Erbil and special education teachers to exchange information and ideas with each other.
