CV writing and Employment communication skills training for persons with disabilities
was started on 15 October and ended on 25 November 2020 in Halabja governorate.
CV writing and Employment communication skills training for persons with disabilities was started on 15 October and ended on 25 November 2020 in Halabja governorate. The main objective of this training was to support persons with a disability to find a job opportunity, CV and application letter writing skills and other job searching skills for one day and how to prepare themselves for an interview in order to find job and livelihood opportunities. This training was oriented on persons with disabilities and those who graduated from university or institution or have a special skill. Also, the total number of participants were 48, and 6 hours of training.
The trainers were provided knowledge on How to write a good resume and how to prepare for a job interview also the training covers these topics (Application letter, Time management, teamwork, decision making, and problem-solving).
The selection of participants is an important component of the training organization as it directly affects the long-term impact of the training. Different types of target audiences for the training have already been identified in the previous section. These points are the Criteria for the identification and selection of Training participants
1. Professional experience and knowledge regarding a skill.
2. Qualification and Experience Required education level University degree or institution.
3. The age of the participants should be between 18 to 40 years.
4. The participants should have the ability and skills.
5. The participants should be the ones who search for job opportunities.
On the other hand, there are many challenges that we faced during the implementation of the training. Peoples with disabilities from khurmal did not attend this training despite that we called for more than 35 peoples after confirming they will attend, fail to show up. This wastes a place that could have been allocated to another person, most of the persons with disabilities are hopeless regarding lack of job opportunities, they think this training will not help them to find a job and covid-19 during implementing the training, but we follow up covid-19 new restrictions by using hygiene and social distance…etc. lastly, the training was conducted successfully, despite the difficulties and challenges encountered. HDO and the trainer implemented the Cv writing and employment communication skills in a good way to help those who are seeking employment and job opportunities.
This training was implemented by Halabja disabled organization in cooparation with Handicap international-Humanity & Inclusion and funded by GIZ as a part of inclusive livelihood project.
